Considered a women's herb, sweetgrass has a long history of use amongst Native American cultures. Referred often as the "Hair of Mother earth" Sweetgrass is used for smoke cleansing/smudging and as an incense in ceremonies.
When burned, Sweetgrass releases a sweet, vanilla-like fragrance that is believed to attract positive energies, purify spaces, and offer protection. Sweetgrass smudging is often used before or after other smudging rituals, such as White Sage, to bring in positive energies and blessings.
This smudge stick may be used by lighting the end of the braid and allowing it to smoulder. You can fan the fragrant smoke with your hand or by using another tool such as a feather, distributing the smoke around your sacred space, home or person.
Ingredients:
Sweetgrass
Specifications:
There are 3 sizes of sweetgrass to select from. Please make your selections prior to checking out.
Care Instructions
Please take care when using this product. Never leave burning herbs unattended. Extinguish in a bowl of sand/dirt when finished.
As a natural product these smudge braids can take in moisture, especially if humidity has been high and/or there has been lots of rain. This may make the herbs difficult to light. If you find that your smudge braid has taken on moisture- dry it out by placing in a sunny window/ dashboard in your car, or on a low heat in the oven. Keep your herbs sealed in a cool dry place when not in use.
* These herbs are for incense and magickal use only. Please do your own research prior to using. The information contained here is for educational and entertainment purposes only and is not meant to replace professional counselling/medical advice.
