Hand Painted Wooden Ornament
"Magpie"
Another iconic Australian bird, the Magpie is both a beloved and feared by many an Aussie! The warbling Magpie is a mainstay within Australian culture.
The Magpie is solely responsible for Aussie cyclists wearing ridiculous cable ties in their helmets. However, despite the fear that they instill in people, the Magpie is actually quite a remarkable bird. A Magpie will recognise the faces of those who have been friendly or unfriendly towards them and act accordingly. A good reason to teach children everywhere to respect them!
This wooden ornament was inspired by the character that is the Magpie. It features an original, signed acrylic painting of a Magpie, hand painted onto a wood slice from an old gum tree, as such it may have cut marks still in the bark. It has been sanded to allow it to stand on it's own, or you could put it on a stand if it suits your décor better!
It would make a lovely addition to your home décor or a beautiful gift to a friend.
